Anthony Rester (アンソニー・レスター, Ansonī Resutā), is the SPK's second in command and its operations leader. Like the other members of the SPK, he works under a false name since Kira needs to know a person's real name and face before he can kill them. He is often referred to as "Commander", implying a military background.

Rester has light blonde hair and light blue eyes.
CharacterEdit
Rester seems to care for Near, and Death Note: How To Read 13 states that he can be seen as his guardian. Near appears to trust Rester greatly, and often reveals some of his thoughts and plans to him only. Rester also helps Near with actions he is not used to doing, such as booking a flight on a plane.
Rester is the only member of the SPK that Near is sure about not being ever seen by Kira.
PlotEdit
Rester assists Near in urgent matters. The one shot happening after the main series reveals that he continues to work with Near, Stephen Gevanni and Halle Lidner.
