Daikoku Private Academy (大国学園, Daikoku Gakuen) is a Japanese education center that Light Yagami and other students attend. This is the place where Light finds the Death Note.
Plot
Light is sitting in a classroom at Daikoku Private Academy, staring out the window, and notices a black notebook fall out of the sky and onto the ground. He later picks up the notebook and reads its contents, which suggest that it can kill people. In order to see if it is actually true, Light considers testing it out on a school bully, Sudou, but decides against it, coming to the conclusion that if it did in fact work, the murder could easily be traced back to him.
